TAKE A WALK.
Illustration: Robert Lawson/Viking Books for Young Readers
Emails ping.
Slacks ding.
The to-do list multiplies like rabbits.
And underneath it all?
PRESSURE.
PRESSURE to perform.
PRESSURE to achieve.
PRESSURE to be the best version of yourself.
For the love.
It’s enough to make even the strongest among us bonkers.
Here’s a radical idea: go for a walk.
Put your feet in the grass.
Breathe some fresh air.
Notice the flowers.
Better yet - pick one.
It reminds me of my favorite childhood character: Ferdinand the bull.
Ferdinand refused to fight.
While the other bulls snorted and pawed at the ground, he just sat under a cork tree and smelled the flowers.
He didn’t care about proving he was the fiercest, fastest, or strongest.
He was content just being himself.
Present.
Enough.
And isn’t that the real flex?
If you agree, I invite you - today, not tomorrow.
NOW.
Stop.
Take a minute.
Better yet, take ten.
Go for a walk.
Connect to your breath.
Smell some flowers.
The world will still be here when you get back.

Thank you for this! 💋
